Fashion in the 1960s: Brigitte Bardot Style

By Jessica Miller

Brigitte Bardot became synonymous with the 1950s and the 1960s glamour of St. Tropez and the overall frenzy about the French Riviera. In fact, she filmed And God Created Woman in St. Tropez in the 1950s. Aside from her talent as an actress, Bardot's sex kitten look and effortless glamour impacted many generations.

Her signature piece? Her bodacious hairdo! The other one? Her cat-eye makeup!

Aditionally, Bardot became known for her bohemian style. She would sport what then was deemed as risque fashion pieces such as a cowboy hat, a veil and even zebra print. Although Bardot retired from modeling and acting in 1973 and lives in recluse with her husband in St. Tropez, she remains a muse for contemporary style and is emulated by countless fashionistas globally.

Take a look at some of her most stylish moments. What is your favorite look of Brigitte's?
