Investment Pieces

By Amra B.

When it comes to dressing, I LOVE combining expensive brands with affordable pieces. Also, there are certain items that I believe to be truly worthy investments, and others that I would not pay more than twenty dollars for. This combination of luxury and common brands is what makes fashion extremely exciting for me.

I invest in shoes, bags, coats, sunglasses, and watches. I occasionally will purchase a designer dress, sweaters, jeans, jewelry, and scarfs. My philosophy is: if you wear something a lot (every other day), you should make sure it is of a superb quality and lasts a long time. Aesthetically speaking, designer investment pieces can also help pull your look together and make it look expensive.

These pieces are perfect for the office, school, walk around the city, and an evening out. I adore the versatility of simple black pumps: they can go from day to night in a second. Christian Louboutin black pump are amazingly elegant and easy to wear (they go well with almost everything). The trench (have recently devoted an entire post to the “trench”) is perfect for spring and can be worn in other seasons as well. This Celine bag is on my wish list, and I really adore these leopard Celine sunnies.

Below, I have combined these investment pieces in different ways so that you can get the most wear out of them. I find that if I use the existing items in my closet, I can get a perfect look for every time!

1. Trench Coat: Burberry
2. Pumps: Christian Louboutin
