The Blue Lagoon--Film Review

The Blue Lagoon was based on the romance and adventure novel The Blue Lagoon written by Henry de Vere Stacpoole. In 1980 director Randal Kleiser made the novel into a movie. The Blue Lagoon launched the career of Brooke Shields when she was only 14 years old. Her co-star was Christopher Atkins.

The film was controversial because it tells a story of two young children who are stranded on a paradise tropical island in the South Pacific.  The two children fall in love while they experience body changes because of puberty. In fact, Brook Shields testified before a U.S. Congress that a older double was used for her nude scenes. Moreover, throughout the film, whenever front shots were depicted of Shields, her breasts were always covered by her long hair; her hair was actually glued to her breasts during many of her topless scenes. The film starring the young teens was R rated. What do you think fashionistas of the teenage love in The Blue Lagoon?

El Lago Azúl se basó en la novela de romance y aventura The Blue Lagoon escrito por Henry de Vere Stacpoole. En 1980, el director Randal Kleiser convirtió la novela en una película. La Laguna Azul lanzó la carrera de Brooke Shields cuando tenía tan sólo 14 años de edad. Su compañero de reparto era Christopher Atkins.

La película era polémica porque cuenta una historia de dos niños que se encuentran perdidos en una isla paraíso tropical en el Pacífico. Los dos niños se enamoran mientras experimentan cambios en el cuerpo a causa de la pubertad. De hecho, Brook Shields, testificó ante el Congreso de EE.UU. que unos dobles hicieron las escenas de desnudos. Por otra parte, a lo largo de la película, en las tomas frontales fueron representados por Shields, sus pechos estaban cubiertos siempre por su pelo largo, su pelo estaba pegado realmente a sus pechos durante muchas de sus escenas en topless. ¿Qué os parece fashionistas, el amor adolescente en El Lago Azúl?
