A lagoon and a barrier reef surround the island, which is located in French Polynesia. Its largest city is Vaitape. Bora Bora is a well-known tourist destination that is famous for its luxury vacationing. In the middle of the island there is an extinct volcano. Also, there is an abundance of coconut trees on the island.

Over-water bungalows are standard for most Bora-Bora resorts. They vary from basic to extravagant. Most of the tourist activities center around the water, e.g. snorkeling and scuba diving in/around the lagoon. There are a vast amount of different types of sharks that inhabit the island’s surrounding water. A few instructors offer shark-feeding dives.

Aussie celebrities like Miranda Kerr and Nicole Kidman frequent Bora Bora. Other celebrities that have been spotted  there are Paris Hilton and of course Orlando Bloom alongside his wife Miranda Kerr. In general, the island has been a major attraction for celebrities and even Victoria's Secret photoshoots, see below Angel Candice Swanpoel. Tip for shopping: the island is known for its black pearls, make sure to accessorize with pearls before leaving. ;)

One of those photographs is actually from the Maldives (the third or fourth from the bottom, I believe). Another exciting tropical paradise that offers overwater bungalows just like Bora Bora. Great photographs, thank you for sharing them.
