Fall/Winter Fashion Trends: How to Match Aztec Prints

By Elma B.

After trotting around several luxury and high street stores in Chicago, I remarked a reoccurring pattern: Aztec prints were upon us..scarves, dresses, vests, sweaters, tights, and even nail patterns! Aztec prints are bold and can add that "je ne sais quoi" charm to your outfit.  So how are the trendsetting designers paring up Aztec print pieces with your everyday clothing or even evening wear? Here are 5 ways:

Aztec Prints for the Fall and Winter

Fashion Icons: Blake Lively and Nicole Richie in Aztec Prints
1. Add an Aztec print item with a unicolor outfit, e.g., an Aztec vest with a dress. See my outfit below. (I am wearing Giorgio Armani sunglasses; dress by Marciano; vintage boots from Madrid, pink vegan Lip Tar from Sephora, Forever 21 Aztec vest, Wolford Luxe 9 tights, and Salvatore Ferragamo purse.)

2. Pair an Aztec print with a leather jacket.

3. Pair Aztec print with Aztec print, e.g., shirt and skinny pants.

4. Wear Aztec print with similar shades of color, e.g., black with gray and white.

5. Dress up with Aztec print

6. Dress casually with Aztec print, e.g., perfect to look stylish  with your weekend jeans.
