Estéreo Picnic

This past Sunday on April 7th, 2013 I had the opportunity to attend Estéreo Picnic on my one year anniversary of living in Bogotá. I consider myself pretty lucky especially since my roommate and I were able to find free entrances! Estéreo Picnic is a yearly music festival held right outside the city. Many major international and national artists preformed this year: The Killers, Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, New Order, Café Tacuba, Ondatrópica, León Larregui, Crystal Castles, and many more.

I had such a good time there with my friends, and it was the first festival of this type that I had been to in Colombia. I really felt like I was at a big picnic! At the entrance, there were vendors selling food and all over there were “chill zones,” which are huge cushions for sitting and relaxing, and tents for for camping-out. One of my favorite aspects was that there were stands selling clothes and handmade jewelry. I really enjoyed the Hippie Market, which was filled with cute and funky things. There were also people cutting hair!!

Festival fashion is one of my favorite “trends.” It’s eccentric, colorful, and really fun. At festivals, I feel like I can wear whatever in excess and still find a way to make it look cool. 

Unfortunately, I don’t have any good pictures of what I wore but here is a picture of my outfit minus the yellow beanie (which sadly got toppled and ruined).

I wore a white lace top and over it a black fringe vest. Underneath, I had sheer tights and shorts. For shoes, I wore black and gold rain boots since it tends to be rainy and messy at festivals. I added some jewelry to make the outfit fun. I had a gold snake necklace that my mom got me, and I borrowed the turquoise and gold bracelet from my roommate. El pasado domingo 07 de abril 2013 tuve la oportunidad de asistir a Estéreo Picnic en mi primer aniversario viviendo en Bogotá. Me considero muy afortunada sobre todo porque mi compañera de cuarto y yo conseguimos entradas gratis! Estéreo Picnic es un festival anual de música que se celebra justo fuera de la ciudad. Muchos grandes artistas internacionales y nacionales se presentaron este año: The Killers, Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, New Order, Café Tacuba, Ondatrópica, León Larregui, Crystal Castles, y mucho más.

Me divertí bastante con mis amigos y fue el primer festival de este tipo que había estado en Colombia. Realmente me sentí como si estuviera en un picnic enorme. A la entrada había vendedores de comida y por todas lados había "chill zones" con cojines grandes para sentarse además de tiendas de campaña donde acampar. Uno de mis aspectos favoritos era que había gente vendiendo ropa y joyas hechas a mano.Me gustó mucho el Hippie Market que estaba lleno de cosas lindas. Hubo gente también cortando pelo!!

La moda en los festivales es uno de mis favoritos "tendencias". Es excéntrico, colorido, y muy divertido. En los festivales, me siento como que puedo usar todo en exceso y todavía encontrar una manera de hacer que se vea bien. Desafortunadamente, no tengo buenas fotos de lo que puse pero aquí es una foto de mi outfit menos el gorro amarillo (que lamentablemente quedó en ruinas y derrocado).

Yo llevaba un top de encaje blanco y sobre ella un chaleco de fleco negro. Debajo tenía medias transparentes y shorts. Me puse unas botas de lluvia en negro y oro, ya que tiende a ser lluvioso y desordenado en los festivales. He añadido algunas joyas para hacerlo más divertido. Yo tenía un collar de serpiente de oro que mi mamá me regaló y mi compañera de cuarto me prestó su pulsera de turquesa y oro ¿Qué piensan ustedes?
