Merima Ramadanovic is a model from Bosnia and Hercegovina who is currently working with the prestigious Elite agency in London. She has become a favorite of many international designers and is rising fast as one of the most demanded models in her agency. She is also pursuing a degree in Biology and her dream is to work as an environmentalist in poverty stricken areas.

What does "beauty" mean to me?

I believe that being beautiful means being natural. I am not a big fan of too much makeup. I believe in embracing who you are and not trying to pretend to be someone else. When we try to copy other people, we seldom retain any of our unique characteristics that distinguish us and make us beautiful. Beauty means to laugh and be happy: we are the most beautiful when we are satisfied and this well-being shines from within. Also, I am a big fan of retro inspired looks, and although this style may not be "popular" or "mainstream", it makes me feel beautiful.

Beauty is when you radiate with positive energy and this comes from within you (deepest part of your soul). When you are a complete person, you are beautiful. I believe that perfection is not beauty, and those who give good vibes are the ones that end up attracting everyone around them.

What are some of my favorite beauty tips?

I adore pinup makeup. However, if I had to give one beauty tip, it would be to try and look as if though you are hardly wearing any makeup. Another beauty tip is: when in doubt, always reach out for mascara and lipstick. I adore strong color lipsticks because I believe that they have the power to brighten anyones face. My favorite colors include red, pink, and orange. My beauty tip for the evening: apply eye pencil and darken your eyebrows just slightly.

How do I maintain my skin?

When in comes to my skin, I try and not tamper with it too much. My skin can endure a lot while I am shooting, and so in my days off, I try and let my skin breathe. I always wash my face in the evening and in the morning with a cleanser. I also apply a hydrating moisturizer in the evening and in the morning.

What are some of the beauty tips I have learned from the makeup professionals on the sets?

While on the set, makeup artists usually use professional makeup appropriate only for photo shoots. This type of makeup is usually not recommended to be worn during the day, but it manages to cover most of the skin problems, including acne, dark circles, and freckles. I would like to note that because of this, many of the images we see in the magazines and on TV are not a true representation of how someone looks in their daily life.

Professional makeup artists biggest secret is in emphasizing the best part of someones face. The best beauty tip that I have received from my work with makeup artists is to put the spotlight on one part of my face: for example, if you like the color of your eyes, try and use eyeshadows that compliment and emphasize your eye color. If you have like the shape of your lips, emphasize them using bright lipstick. If you have thick eyebrows, use a little eye brow pencil and emphasize their shape. If you love your cheekbones, highlight them using glitter, blush, or bronzing pigments. Each and every person in this world has a striking feature on their face and should try and make this unique characteristic shine.

Sta za mene znaci "ljepota"?

Za mene vazi pravilo da "biti lijep znaci biti prirodan." Ja nisam prevelik ljubitelj sminke. Takdojer, vjerujem u to da trebate da volite sebe i ne pokusavete biti neko drugi. Kada pokusavamo da kopiramo druge ljude, izgibimo one karateristike koje nas cine posebnim i lijepim. Ljepota je kada se smijete i kada ste sretni: mi smo najljepsi kada smo zadovoljni i to zadovoljstvo zraci iznutra. Takdojer, ja sam veliki fan retro look-a, i iako ovaj stil mozda nije previse popularan ili "mainstream", ja ga volim jer se u njemu osjecam lijepom.

Ljepota je kada zracite sa pozitivnom energijom i to dolazi iznutra (najdubljeg dijela vase duse). Kada ste kompletna osoba, vi ste lijepi. Ja vjerujem da savrsenstvo nije ljepota, i da ljudi koji zrace posebnom energijom su oni koji privuku najvise osoba.

Koji su nekih od mojih omiljeni beauty savijeta?

Ja volim pinup makeup. Ipak, kada bih morala da dam jedan savijet to bi bilo da izgledate kao da jedva imate sminku na licu. Drugi beauty tip je da ukoliko niste sigurni sta da stavite na lice za dnevnu varijantu, maskara i jarki ruz su uvijek dobra ideja. Ja volim jarke ruzeve jer mislim da imaju moc da osvjeze svaki look. Moje omiljene boje su crvena, roza i narandzasta. Za navecer moj beauty tip je da stavite tus i potamnite obrve malo sa olovkom.

Kako odrzavam svoju kozu blistavom?

Sto se tice koze, ja nostojim da je ne maltretiram previse. Dok radim, moja koza zna biti dosta pretretirana raznim proizvodima, tako da kad sam slobodna nastojim je pustiti da dise. Prije spavanja i ujutru se obavezno umijem koristeci sapun (cleanser) za skidanje sminke. Takdojer namazem kozu hidrantnom kremom jednom dnevno.

Sto sam naucila od profesionalnih sminkera sa raznih snimanja? Koji su to neki od trikova koji profesionalnci koriste?

Tokom snimanja, sminkeri uglavnom korsite profesionalni makeup kako bi prekrili nedostatke na necijem licu. Ovaj tip sminke nije preporucen za dnevnu nosnju, ali uspije da prekrije vecinu nepravilnosti na kozi, ukljucujuci bobuljice, podocnjake i pijegice. Zelim da napomenem da zbog ovoga, vecina slika koje vidimo u magazinima i na TV-u nisu istinska reprezentacija toga kako neko uzivo.

Najveca tajna profesionalnih sminkera jeste da istaknu najljepsi dio necijeg lica. Najbolji beauty tip koji sam dobila sa snimanja jeste da stavite paznju na jedan dio vaseg lica: naprimjer, ako vam se dopada vasa boja ociju, onda koristite sjene koje ce istaci vase oci. Ako volite oblik vasih usnica, mozete ih naglasiti sa jarkim karminom. Ako imate deblje obrve, mozete koristiti olovku za obrve da im date malo oblika. Ako volite vase jagodice i obraze, mozete koristiti highlighter, sljokice, bronzilo, ili rumenilo. Svaka osoba na svijetu ima nesto posebno i lijepo, i to treba nastojati i istaci!
