The Sundance Film Festival is an American-independent film festival that takes place annually in Utah. The program was launched by the Sundance Institute (which was founded by Robert Redford) and is one of the largest independent film festivals in the United States, where American and international independent filmmakers showcase their new films. The Sundance Film Festival is a tremendous opportunity and a spring broad to success to for filmmakers and actors/actresses.
The festival features international drama, documentary films, short film and length films. The 2013 Sundance Film Festival was held from january 17 until January 27, 2013.
In an effort to raise awareness and give the Sundance Film Festival an international appeal, Robert Redford announced the London Offshoot of Sundance in March, 2011. The organizers hope to inspire UK filmmakers with panel discussions, filmmaker Q&As, and special events. The Sundance Film Festival in London has been held for the past two years in O2.
After reading so much about the Sundance Film Festival, I had the opportunity to attend when I was invited by a friend to see In a World..., which is a story of the clandestine world of Hollywood voice over talent, by the American actress, director and screenwriter Lake Bell. See more at http://www.sundance-london.com/event/world. After the film, there was a Q&A session during which the audience had the opportunity to ask questions about the behind the scenes and the process of filmmaking. I throughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend for anyone to attend, especially for people who like to escape the massive commercial movies and instead capture the art in films.
