Treasures of the Caribbean: Jamaica

By Elma B.

Having recently had the pleasure of traveling to Jamaica, I wanted to share with you some travel tips in case you make it to this majestic part of the Caribbean, where the waters are emerald blue and the beaches are covered with soft white sand. All about Jamaican life, my personal travel story...

Breathtaking Scenery: Our Flight

As we (my family) was flying over the Caribbean, I noticed the waters were crystal clear with a deep emerald blue dominating. To add to this majestic scenery, the beaches glistened standing against the deep green tropical forests. Take a look below at the photo I snapped as we were landing. I would suggest preparing your camera as you are landing to capture this surreal moment.

Where to Stay in Jamaica

We landed in Montego Bay and stayed in Negril, which has the reputation of having some of the best beaches Jamaica has to offer. Our resort was located on a lagoon, and therefore, one could enter the waters without worrying about being knocked down by a wave (yes, happened to my mother on the shores of South Carolina). Negril is beautiful not only for its beaches but for its rolling green hills and waterfalls so I suggest taking a day (or two) to explore its "countryside."

What to Expect in Jamaica:

As for what to expect in Jamaica...well, stay tuned for my next post, I have plenty of adventures left to share. Below, take a peak at some of the natural beauty that Negril has to offer, until next time xoxo from this Caribbean paradise!
