The buzzing fashion scene in the early 2000s:

All the hype revolved around a really unique style called boho-chic; boho-chic draws on various bohemian and hippie influences. At its height, between 2004 and 2005, boho chic almost became synonymous with actress Sienna Miller and supermodel Kate Moss in the United Kingdom and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in the United States. This trend was in a spotlight in the early 2000s and came to a wane by 2009.

Boho-chic is a fashion trend that is part bohemian and part chic. At the core of boho-chic style movement was the trend to bring back vintage styles to the modern era. Hence, boho-chic combines organic, colorful, detailed, and folk-inspired pieces with simple and modern pieces.

The boho-chic trend is said to have been started by actress Sienna Miller in 2005 through her character in Alfie. She wore bohemian-style clothing in the film; afterwards, she continued to embrace the boho-chic look in London. Soon, fashionistas began to mimic her style, and fashion designers took notice.

Lately, personally, the boho-chic trend has really been growing on me. In particular, I think boho-chic is a perfect look for the autumn, when we are a bit tired of the summer trends and not yet ready to pull out our heavy winter clothes.

If you share my opinion, try the next time you are shopping to choose something from boho chic basics, and relax in these laid back pieces. Siena Miller, Kate Moss and the Olsen twins often have been named the best-dressed ladies in show-biz. All of them can vouch for the charm of the bohemian trend.
