Coco Chanel became well known for her timeless designs, trademark suits and the little black dress. Her staple signature: simple and sophisticated designs paired with beautiful strands of pearls.

She was born in 1883 in Samur, France,  and raised in a orphanage where she was taught to sew.  In the 1920s, she launched her first perfume line and introduced the Chanel suit and the little black dress. She opened her first shop in Paris on Rue Cambon in 1910. Her story is quite spectacular... Chanel's aim was to make luxury comfortable; she borrowed element's of men's wear and refused to continue with the then popular constraints on women's fashion. She helped women say goodbye to the painful corsets! Moreover, she took the color black once associated with morning and showed how chic it could look.
