Quick Makeup Tips & Tricks for Busy Women

By Amra B.

Problem: I am heading to office/class in the morning and don't have time to do my makeup!

Sometimes, especially during the warm spring and hot summer days, having a full face of makeup during the day may not be so practical. I am lazy to do makeup early in the morning, especially when I know that I will be spending an entire day in the office. In addition, summer temperatures make any heavy makeup very unpractical and unattractive. Still, I want to look like the best version of myself in very LITTLE time. I like to look polished and will never leave the house without a lipgloss and sunscreen on my face. My ideal look is the one that makes me look fresh, pretty and effortless.

Solution: Fresh makeup (time 5-7 minutes)

1. Sunscreen: I start my EVERY makeup routine with a sunscreen. I use my sunscreen as a lotion in the summer as I have a combination skin. The sunscreen keeps my skin hydrated, comfortable, and protected. I believe that because of this routine and adequate care (proper cleansing and hydration) that my skin is wrinkle free! If your skin is dry, I would recommend to use a moisturizer before applying a sunscreen. Those of you with oily skin, find a lightly textured sunscreen and skip the moisturizer. I personally use an SPF 50 during the summer if I know I will spend some time outside. Otherwise, I use at least an SPF 15 during the entire year and every day (no exceptions even on a cloudy and rainy day).
My sunscreen
Before any makeup: Clinique Face Cream SPF50 and Clinique Redness Solution Foundation SPF15

2. Corrector: I use my corrector to cover any imperfections. I dab some corrector under my eyes, around my nose, and on any pimples I may have.
Areas where I use the concealer
Concealers I use: Mac and Clé de Peau Beauté
3. Bronzer: I use the bronzer strategically: I highlight areas that the sun would naturally hit. I place my bronzer on my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. I then blend the bronzer so that it looks as natural as possible.

Bronzers I use: Mac and Guerlain
4. Highlighter: Highlighter is my best friend! It makes me look fresh even when I am dead tired. I use a highlighter on my cheek bones and nose. I always blend it so that there are no obvious lines.

My highlighters: Mac and GUERLAIN
5. Blush: I only use a VERY natural blush in the summer. I recommend a peachy/rosy color that is ever so slightly different from your bronzer. If you want to skip the blush, I would recommend just a little extra bronzer on your cheeks.
6. Lipgloss: My favorite summer lipgloss color is cherry. It looks so fresh and modern. If I want to make it last longer (like in case I am swimming), I will smudge a little bit of a lip pencil underneath my lipgloss.
Lipgloss and Pencil I used for this look: Lancome and Estée Lauder
7. ***Optional (Mascara): If I am on the beach, I will skip mascara. If I am heading to an office or a meeting, I will apply mascara. I always curl my lashes and apply a lash primer before a mascara. This helps "open" my eyes. I use a lengthening and volumizing mascara.

Mascara and primer I use: Clinique and Guerlain

Wish you a wonderful week! XOXO
