20s Fashion

There is a lot to be said about the 20s: one important aspect was liberalization of women not only through gaining voting rights (in the U.S.) but also through the flapper style. The ladies cut off their long locks and washed their hands clean from the uncomfortable corsets and long dresses/skirts. The dresses and skirts no longer flared out. Many dresses did not have a waist line; the hemline was sown straight from your armpit to usually well below your knees (for details see the photos below). 

Hay mucho que decir acerca de los años 20: un aspecto importante fue la liberalización de las mujeres no sólo a través de los derechos en el voto que obtienen (en los EE.UU.), sino también a través del estilo flapper. Las señoras cortaron sus largos cabellos, desaparecieron los corsés incómodos y largos vestidos / faldas. Los vestidos y faldas ya no eran anchos. Muchos vestidos no tienen una línea de cintura, el dobladillo fue por lo general era muy por debajo de las rodillas (para más detalles ver las fotos de abajo).

Also, the cloche hats were marvelous with lots of personality and elegance. For the first time, the ankles of women were openly seen by anyone who looked. The high heeled shoes were round around the toes, and the heels were not terribly tall and the width of the heel itself was thick. What do you think fashionistas of the roaring 20s?

También, los sombreros cloche eran maravillosas con mucha personalidad y elegancia. Por primera vez, los tobillos de las mujeres vieron la luz. Los zapatos de tacón altos, las puntas eran redondas alrededor de los dedos de los pies, y los tacones  no eran muy altos y el ancho del tacón era fino. ¿Qué os parece fashionistas  los locos años 20?
