The Virginia Gold Cup

The Virginia Gold Cup is the celebration of the hunt country in Virginia. The races have been held since 1922 during the first week of May. Natural walls and fences from a nearby hunting ground surround the racing field. 

It is one of the largest events in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. The event itself brings forth a Southern charm because of its location (in the green rolling hills of Virginia) and its style (young ladies wear huge hats and young gentlemen wear seersucker suits).
