She captivated the
audience in with her roles as a distant and mysterious beauty in Repulsion and
Belle de Jour in the 1960s. Since then
her acting career took-off, and she has starred in many well-known French and
American movies and has won and been nominated for international movie awards.
Her two other most famous movies are Indochine
and the Last Metro in the 1980s and 1990s respectively. Catherine Deneuve has
tried to guard her privacy. She has been the object of admiration by famous
actors (e.g. Clint Eastwood), photographers, business tycoons (e.g. Pierre
